Landscape Delivery

Todds Nursery supported the delivery of the Heathrow Terminal 5 landscape programme, one of the largest and most complex landscape schemes undertaken in the UK. The project formed part of the wider 260-hectare airport expansion, incorporating ecological restoration and large-scale public realm planting.

Scope of Works

  • Supply and installation of 4,000+ semi-mature trees
  • Supply of 450,000 shrubs and planting stock
  • Production of 30,000 locally sourced native trees grown from Colne Valley seed
  • Phased delivery across a six-year construction programme
  • Landscape installation and five years of maintenance

Key Outcomes

  • Delivered planting across a 260-hectare development
  • Successfully coordinated logistics within a live international airport environment
  • Delivered one of the UK’s largest local provenance tree initiatives
  • Contributed to the project receiving the BALI Grand Award

Strategic Impact

This project demonstrated Todds Nursery’s ability to plan production years in advance, manage large planting volumes and coordinate complex logistics, supporting major infrastructure projects from initial planting through to long-term landscape establishment.
