Todds Nursery.

Doing things properly.

Todds Nursery has always been built around a commitment to doing things properly.

We’re not set up to be the biggest — we are set up to be reliable, honest, and committed to how trees are grown, handled, and supplied.

Where it started

Todds Nursery has operated in its current form since July 2016, when the lease of the land and existing stock were acquired from Premier Trees Ltd.

Premier Trees was part of Hanstead PLC, one of the UK’s leading commercial landscape businesses throughout the 1990s and 2000s. The nursery supported major contract grows for landmark projects including:

Heathrow Terminal 5

RBS World Headquaters

Legoland

When Hanstead closed in 2016, Jon and William Todd took the opportunity to carry the nursery forward under the Todds name — establishing it as an independent, family-led business with a focus on quality and provenance.

Growing the business (2016–2025)

From 2016 onwards, the nursery developed steadily with a clear, long-term approach:

Expanding stock and growing capabilit

Supporting both trade and private clients

Building long-term relationships

Prioritising consistency over volume

This measured growth shaped Todds Nursery into a trusted supplier across both commercial and retail markets.

2025: Moving Forward

In 2025, Todds Nursery was acquired and integrated into the Urban&Civic group.

The acquisition wasn’t about changing what Todds does — it was about strengthening it.
It brought growing and delivery closer together, improved supply-chain certainty, and aligned nursery production directly with real project programmes.

As part of this transition, Jon Todd retired from the business, leaving behind a strong foundation built on years of experience and commitment to quality.

The integration allows the nursery to:

Plan and grow stock further ahead

Align production with live development programme

Reduce reliance on imported or over-handled stock

Today

Today, Todds Nursery continues to operate as a UK-grown nursery supplying both trade and retail clients, with a clear focus on:

Sustainability through local growing

Practical, deliverable planting

Supplying stock that is known, trusted and fit for purpose

The approach remains simple:

Grow it well, handle it properly, and supply it with care.
